This past June Amanda and Benjamin went to Uganda to teach soapmaking to a group of women who are part of Project Lydia. Read more here and here.
The Project Lydia soapmakers are Alice, Deize, Edith, Florence, Sarah, Sauda and Tabisa.
Julie, who runs Project Lydia, came by to show us the packaging that they’ve been working on. The women make the products, soap and body oil, and package and label in Uganda. The soap is wrapped in local banana tree fibers and then wrapped in a beautifully designed label. The hair and body oil goes into a bottle with a banana fiber tie.
The packaging and design is just beautiful! If you have a shop or boutique and are interested in carrying Project Lydia soap and other body items, they are just about ready! Contact Julie Pash and let her know that you’re a friend of Lovin’ Soap Project and that you’re interested in these items. They’ll also be on the website soon for purchase directly from Project Lydia.
So…check out the Project Lydia Soap and Body Product Line! We are so thrilled to see it get to the point that it has.
Thank you to all of our supporters who helped us get to Uganda and teach these wonderful women!
